......Birr 2002.......

Well folks the Rev's team has finally shrugged off the winter blues in time for the Birr Single Stage Rally...

The event restricted entries to Two-wheel drive cars and it was a haven for mark 2 lovers, with the usual sideways entertainers in abundance....The weather was cat.....it poured rain all day....And here was me thinking that we only got that horizontal rain here in Galway.....it was freeeeeezzzzzzzing cold and it did not help matters that we got a text message from Australia telling us it was 29 degrees and sunny....(a friend on holidays) Well anyways back to da rally....

As I was saying the field was dominated by mark 2's, but one car caught our eye and that was the Puma of Andrew Fanning......now here was something coool (that's what I think), it was a rear wheel drive conversion powered by an Astra 1600 (I think) engine...and it sounded as good as it looked, could this be the shape

of things to come......hope so.....

da Italian Job G

Ray Cunningham had his sexy looking Mini out..... great to see him in action.....

.......How it was.......

Well as the rally got under way the rain did not dampen the spirit of the crowds, the BallyGaddy cross-roads attracted a big crowd all day.....the first loop was short lived with one of the cars going off.... and the services of the Rescue unit led by our very own Ivor Gleeson were called into action.....

The second loop ran without a hitch, this gave the folks a chance to thrill the crowds with

their sideways action, and of course there was no let up in the rain....

The third and final loop was nearly completed when the stage was blocked once more....and that was about it....

Once again the people who really run this event (the marshals of course) did an excellent job.....Congrats to Eoin Longworth The COC and crew for an excellent event......ya ya I know it's the marshals that do all of the work...but sure we have to mention these folks as well......even if they do ride around in nice warm cars and wave to the marshals as they pass by.........

Well anyways Ballinagh is next on the list.......So we hope to see ya there......Ohhhhhh yes and The great man himsel.....Chief Christy will no doubt be in attendance.....so don't miss it if ya want to see the big man himsel.....and of course Johnny the Tractor Lally should be there tooo..........well dat's about it hope to see ye all there.....

Carry on Marshaling

Pictured below is as you can see Johnny Tractor at the resent Marshals Day Out...the event held in Mondello race track was to reward the hard working Guys'N'Gals of the Marshals fraternity...well done to all of the drivers who turned out to support this event.....and about time tooooo......I spoke to Johnny Tractor today and even though this event was some weeks ago, he still has a massive grin on his face, for get Alton Towers and the rest of these adrenalin pumping rides, nothing but nothing comes close to riding beside a possessed rally driver, and as for Johnny, well next time ya see him ask him what's it like to go sideways at warp speed.....  now if you are wondering how can I get a spin in one of these fire breathing super cars......well all ya have to do is join a marshals club in your area and help out at events......next year it could be you......and you too could have the Tractor grin...

Don't delay join a marshal club Today!

Well that's about it for now drop back later for more news views etc and lots more......later the Rev's team.....
